Parish History
The Parish of St Peter's began as an annex Chapel of the Resurrection of our Lord Parish. With that status, technically, the priest appointed as head of the community had to carry the title of administrator. The first administrator of St. Peter's Chapel was Reverend Father James Whelan in 1977.
One year later in 1978, Reverend Father Bob Bedard was appointed administrator of the community; some of you still remember him. He later founded the Companions of the Cross. In 1979 Reverend Father Patrick Laurent, an oblate priest, was appointed to St. Peter's. He was later appointed to Western Canada to pursue his mission. The last administrator of the community was Reverend Father Paul Baxter in 1980. One year later he became the first Pastor of St. Peter's Parish. «more...» |
