Rev. Cyprian Adibe
Father Cyprian Emeka Adibe was born on 21 November 1966 in Nigeria. He was ordained to the Catholic priesthood on 3rd July 1993 for the Archdiocese of Onitsha in Nigeria. He has served in many capacities in his home diocese in Nigeria. In Canada, he served as a hospital chaplain at the Ottawa General Hospital for several years and also was the pastor of St Patrick Catholic Church, Maniwaki , Quebec for seven years between 2005 to 2013. In between those times, he was a supply minister to many parishes in the Archdiocese of Ottawa while studying at St Paul University, Ottawa.
Rev Fr Cyprian Adibe studied for his Bachelor of law at the University of Nigeria. He obtained his Master in Legal Studies and Master in Theology at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa respectively. He also has a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Nigeria. He was also called to the Law Society of Upper Canada having studied and passed the Ontario Bar Exams. He practiced law in Canada for a few years specializing in the area of administrative law tribunals and social justice issues. He holds a Doctorate degree in Law from the University of Nigeria law faculty. Until he was appointed as pastor of Holy Name of Mary, Almonte, was a law professor at the Law Faculty of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was the Pastor of Holy Name of Mary Parish, Almonte, Ontario from August 2023 to August 2025. Currently, he also serves as the Archbishop’s Delegate for Judicial Matters and Investigator for the Archdiocese of Ottawa -Cornwall.
He is a member of many professional associations which include: the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), the Law Society of Ontario (LSA), the American Association of International Law (ASIL), the Nigeria Association of Law Teachers (NALT), and Knight of Columbus ( KOC) and Nigeria Institute of Chattered Arbitrators.
